From the amazing places we went site seeing, to the great coaches that volunteered their time, to all the awesome parents that I met & got to know, to watching my son's team and the other 5 teams from PHD Hoops all win good medals, words don't begin to explain how blessed I was to be able to attend the trip. I suggest anyone who is fortunate to have their son or daughter get asked to play for PHD Hoops and go on one of these trips to not let the opportunity pass you by, it will literally change your life for the better. My son committed to play basketball with a group of young men who were basically strangers. 1st day of the trip we had an unexpected delay which left us stuck in the Germany airport for 13 hours. What began with a lot of groans of disappointment ended up being an instant bonding opportunity. It was uphill from there! Of course, I loved watching my graduating senior train & play ball with boys from all over America. Fang Zhang20 May 2024We are so grateful to be part of the PHD Hoops team for EYBC for summer of 2023. We had a wonderful experience in Spain. We really appreciate PhD Hoops for pulling together this awesome trip. We got to know the trip leader Ruben, Coach O'Brien, Coach Denton and Coach Fry and all amazing players and some of the families during the tour. We were so impressed by how great our boys played on the court, even though they had never played a game together before. They became good friends quickly and played very well as a team in a matter of a couple of days. We were also touched by a few personal stories of the players. We had a marvelous tour of the city of Barcelona, including the La Sagrada Familia cathedral. We enjoyed the nice beach and shops near the hotel and loved the local food. We even hopped on a tram tour of Santa Susanna. Thanks PhD Hoops again for this unforgettable memory which will last life time long. Jane Burke28 May 2024What a great organization! Our grandson participated in the PhD Hoops trip to United World Games in Austria last summer. What an opportunity! His mother and I were so lucky to be able to join the group. PhD Hoops is such a well run organization. They combine culture with sport to provide the kids with a total experience. As an example, we arrived in Munich on our Aer Lingus flight, boarded our luxurious dedicated bus, and went directly to Dachau. Think about that for a minute. Then a bus ride through the gorgeous mountain area to get to spend time in Venice with all there is to experience there. The next part of our journey took us to Klagenfurt, Austria, the site of the United World Games. Each age group had a dedicated coach, a couple of days of focused training followed by intense competition with teams from all over the world. It was great. I also need to say, and as an adult this was important to me, the hotels where we stayed were wonderful. Top notch. The food, the rooms, the service, the surroundings. The beds. Ethan had a great time and those boys are already planning a reunion of some sort. It was a great experience and I’m so glad we got to do it! Selfishly it was a fabulous time to spend with my baby (who isn’t a baby anymore) before he leaves for school. What a great way to go out with GOLD! Thank you again for a great trip!!
