PhD Hoops USA Announces Teams for 2026 United World Games Experience
LOS ANGELES, CA – May 3, 2026 – PhD Hoops USA announces the teams, coaches and players who will represent the USA in the Boys (U19, U16 & U14) age divisions of the United World Games. All three teams will be on tour from June 14-22, 2026 traveling to Italy & Austria while competing at the UWG, the largest youth tournament in Europe! The group will experience both high-level basketball and cultural sightseeing.

Coach Eric Perry, Head Coach (Phoenix, AZ), has a wealth of coaching experience at the high school, college, international and NBA levels. He currently coaches at Sunnyslope High School (AZ) and is coming off a 28-2 season en route to the Arizona State Championship. He has served as Head Coach at Crossroads College, the Compton Magic (AAU) and at various other levels. Coach Perry also spent time coaching at Cal Poly and for tryout sessions with the Bakersfield Jam (NBA D-League). Additionally, he made a name for himself as a Player Development Coach across several Asian countries, including Satria Muda Pertamina (Indonesia), and for Chris Johnson Hoops, training several NBA players and all-stars). He had a successful playing career at Crossroads College, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Theology and Business Administration with a Minor in Sports Management.

Coach Colin Doss, Head Coach (Murray, KY), is going back to the United World Games for the 4th summer in a row, where he has earned both Silver & Gold Medals in a variety of coaching roles. Over the last couple of years, Coach Doss has served as Head Coach at the High School (Murray High School) and Collegiate (John Melvin University) levels, where he was the youngest college head coach in the nation, and was awarded Coach of the Year honors at both locations. He has risen up the coaching ranks quickly throughout his young career, previously as the top assistant coach at Brescia University (KY), acting as the Director of Player Development for Moore Buckets and the Program Director/Head Coach for Kentucky Supreme. He played 3 years of college basketball before graduating from Webster University with his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.Â

Coach Patrick Doherty, Head Coach (Milwaukee, WI), a first-time PhD Hoops USA Coach, has coached nearly 25 years at the middle school, college and professional levels. As the Head Coach and an administrator at Hales Corners Lutheran School (WI), he has led his middle school program to several State Final Fours and a State Championship, as well as 9 trips to the national tournament (including an Elite Eight finish this past season). He has been nationally recognized as the recipient of the Tom Schultze Memorial, National Basketball Coaching Leadership Award. Coach Doherty also served 8 seasons as Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Concordia University-Wisconsin, where the program won both regular-season and tournament championships. Professionally, he was the Head Coach of the Wisconsin GLO, where he won a Global Women’s Basketball Association Championship and was a Coach of the Year Finalist. He earned both his Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Master’s Degree in Administrative Leadership from Concordia University-Wisconsin.
Coach Brad Zacharias, Assistant Coach (Milwaukee, WI), is joining PhD Hoops USA for the first time. Over the past 13 years, he has served as Assistant Boys Basketball Coach at Hales Corners Lutheran School under our U14 Head Coach, Patrick Doherty. He has also spent many years coaching U14 thru U17 AAU Basketball, including his current position as the U15 Coach for Chapman Basketball Academy. For 15 years, he taught Preschool thru 3rd Grade and was an Adjunct Professor at Waukesha County Technical College. Coach Zacharias earned both an Associate’s Degree from Waukesha County Technical College in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

TRIP LEADER – Arvin Mosley, Jr. (Tacoma, WA)
Arvin Mosley, Jr. is one of our most experienced PhD Hoops USA Trip Leaders. As a coach for 3 years at the United World Games, he led his U19 Boys Teams to both Silver & Gold Medals. In addition, he has been a key part of the PhD Hoops family the last several years as a Skills Trainer, Website Contributor and Coaches Roundtable Moderator. Last Fall, he was inducted into the distinguished PhD Hoops USA Ring of Honor. He is currently the CEO and Founder of Triple Impact Coaching and has been a head coach at both the high school level as well as the collegiate level (Tacoma Community College and The Evergreen State College). Coach Mosley is a highly respected skills trainer for players at all levels and travels around the country conducting camps and training sessions. He played 4 years of college basketball while earning his Bachelor’s Degree in English from Central Washington University. Additionally, he earned a Master’s Degree from Georgia Southern University in Coaching.
